The government has also contracted with several companies to build thousands of railcars, some reportedly equipped with shackles, ostensibly to transport detainees. According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal the removal of "all removable aliens" ....

by Anna Kudrow If you still have your job, congratulations - you are one of the lucky ones. The outlook for 2009 is pretty grim with cutbacks and job losses the order of the day. Almost half of all European employers had to lay off workers last year and that figure is set to increase this year with the bounce back not expected till 2011. This means that you should set a target of holding your job for at least the next two years when things may pick up. The stress the current environment is

Setting Goals: Mediocrity Or Risky

When setting goals, we try to make sense of what we really want. Will we settle for this average life or are we willing to take on some pretty good risks to go where we want to go?

Searching the blogosphere for some insights, I came across Scott H. Young’s blog. He offers a rather uncommon take on life and reading some of his posts lets you evaluate your life and the way you’re living it.

Setting goals are meant to challenge you to go out of your comfort zone and grow as a person. If you settle for the thing that everybody else is doing, you’d have little opportunity for personal growth.

You’ll probably argue that setting too risky goals are doomed for failure. If you have this mindset then anything you set your mind into doing is really doomed to fail. Change that mindset and cultivate positive thinking.

Leisure Goals: “The Joys Of Not Working”

Are you still feeling guilty over the 30 more minutes you spent eating your lunch today? You could’ve spent it doing something more “productive”, maybe checking your emails or going through your calendar to update your weekly schedule.

But wait, please do find the time to read on this post!

“If you are losing your leisure, look out! You are losing your soul.” – Logan Pearsall Smith

That quote was pretty powerful, don’t you think so?

I found that quotation on page 95, fitting nicely on the page’s margin, in Ernie J. Zelinski’s book “The Joy of Not Working”. After a quick read through some of the chapters, the book has a strong message on work and leisure.

In the book, you’ll find out it’s all rather simple, really. We are so overwhelmed by our daily work schedule – punch in at nine, punch out at five – with the hours in between spent doing something we don’t really like doing. Well, of course, there are those who are just downright lucky to have a job which they enjoy, and so going to work isn’t a chore. But for the unlucky ones, it’s the same old thing, day in and day out. Never really had thought of setting leisure goals, did you? You’ve pretty much given in to your daily routine.

“The Joys of Not Working” provides provocative insights – denounces work, commend unemployment, and urges you, the reader, to live abundantly with less. You don’t have to work hard, you just have to work smart, and have all the time in the world to enjoy yourself. You have merely existed all these time if you haven’t managed to wisely use your leisure.

Learn to live, stop hurrying along, just stop and set your leisure goals now!

There’s more to life. Enjoy it. Love it. Live it!

by Barbara J. Silberman There are many ways to lose weight, but most share a common theme for permanent weight loss. Weight gain is usually a result of an unhealthy lifestyle. Moreover, the excess weight that you have did not just appear; it has built up over many months or years. Daily requirements for calorie intake can be estimated and in general if you stay close to the daily calorie needs then most will not have weight issues. Those that regularly consume high fat and high calorie foods w
